One driver, no one on the curb. The arm grabs the cart, flips it over the hopper, and a hydraulic blade crushes the load into the body.

• The packer squeezes each load to about ¼ of its loose size.
• Each load shoves the whole column back toward the tailgate.
• A real truck does this 800–1,200 times a shift, about 8 s per cart.
